Julie Bercik joined the WKBN 27 First News Team in December 2011 as a video journalist. Julie shoots, writes and edits her own stories.
She graduated magna cum laude from Kent State University in May of 2007. She majored in broadcast journalism and minored in political science.
Julie started her career as reporter/ morning anchor at WLTZ in Columbus, Georgia. While in Columbus, she got an inside look at the military, covering stories at Fort Benning. She also got to jump out of a plane with the Silver Wings.
At the end of 2009, Julie moved to Charlottesville, Virginia to work at WVIR as reporter/ weekend morning anchor.
While in Charlottesville, she covered the death of University of Virginia lacrosse player, Yeardley Love, the earthquake of 2011, and reported live from Virginia Beach for Hurricane Irene.
Julie was born in raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She enjoys being able to make it back to Pittsburgh to see her family as much as she can.
